Workflow & Platform Transitions: Scaling Creative Operations Across Systems

Creative work doesn’t scale without strong systems. During my time supporting multiple brands under the Red Ventures ecosystem — including Healthline, Medical News Today, and Greatest — I became the operational bridge between creative execution and the platforms that made the work sustainable. My role expanded beyond imagery direction into managing complex workflow transitions that affected editorial publishing, copyright integrity, and long-term asset governance.

One of the most impactful transitions I led was the migration of creative assets from Dropbox to Google Drive, and later from Google Drive into Canto, a Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform designed for centralized storage, organization, search, and distribution. These changes weren’t just “file moves.” They required strategy, clean taxonomy, duplication control, permission mapping, and strong communication to ensure no assets were lost, mislabeled, or separated from their licensing history. In parallel, I explored early AI tools to support organizing large libraries faster — including tagging systems, folder logic, and search behavior improvements — while keeping workflows flexible for editors and designers.

I also supported major process changes in how teams tracked and shipped work. We transitioned from early spreadsheet-based project management into WordPress-centered workflows, and later into structured task management systems like Asana. Throughout each shift, I ensured teams didn’t lose momentum. I trained editors on image sourcing practices, helped integrate asset access directly into editorial needs, and standardized how we applied credits, captions, alt text, and copy alignment — improving accessibility and trust for the viewer while protecting the company legally.

These transitions strengthened collaboration across copyright, editorial, and creative teams, and allowed us to work faster with greater visibility, without sacrificing quality or compliance. I wasn’t only adapting to change — I was designing it, guiding it, and making it work at scale.
